Marcia Jane Waugh Bailey, 56, of Winston-Salem, NC passed away Saturday, August 25, 2007 at Forsyth Medical Center after an extended illness. Marcia was born on October 12, 1950 in Wilkes County to Pauline Wilborn Waugh and James Dwight Waugh, Sr.

Marcia accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as her Savior at an early age. She joined First Baptist Church in North Wilkesboro, NC.

On September 20, 1969, Marcia married William Bailey and a year later moved to Winston-Salem, NC. In November 1971, Marcia embarked on a career at Wachovia Bank where she worked in many departments. Marcia worked for Wachovia Bank until her health declined and she retired after 31, years of service as Assistant Vice President of Trust Operations.

In continuing her Christian walk, upon her arrival in Winston-Salem, NC, Marcia joined Shiloh Baptist Church where she was a member for many years. She later joined United Cornerstone Missionary Baptist Church as a charter member. She served on the Trustee Board, was a member of the choir and was the church secretary. Her most fulfilling position was Head of the Youth Department. In this role, Marcia's deepest desire was to assist the youth in shaping their lives for positive and effective service.

She later joined Grace Kingdom Life Ministries in Wilkesboro, a ministry birthed by her son, Brent. At Grace Kingdom Life Ministries, Marcia taught the Youth Kingdom Class, sang on the Praise Team and was also the church secretary. She never allowed her illness to stop her from serving the Lord and spending time with family and friends.

In addition to her mother, those who have been most keenly touched and share most deeply her memory include her devoted and loving husband of 38 years, William M. Bailey, Sr.; two sons, William M. Bailey, Jr. (Teronica), and Brent D. Bailey (Keisha); three grandchildren, Joshua D. Bailey, Teriana Edwards and Rickie Counts; best friend and only sister, Derrion (Vincent) Harris of Gahanna, OH; four brothers, James Waugh (Adele), Ronald Waugh (Marvalene), Elvis Waugh all of Columbus, OH and Kurt Waugh of Salem, VA; a host of in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends to include three devoted friends, Barbara Goodin, Pam Martin and Janice Wright. Marcia was a very loving, kind and devoted Christine wife, mother, daughter, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend and will be missed by all that knew her.

Funeral services will be held at 12 noon Wednesday, August 29, 2007 at United Cornerstone Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. C. Anthony Jones, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow in Piedmont Memorial Gardens. Family visitation will be held from 11 am until 12 noon Wednesday at the church.
