On Tuesday, November 22, 2011, Marcella East-Hatcher answered the call of our Lord and Savior where she was gracefully escorted to her heavenly home. She was the oldest of six children born to the late Thomas and Stella East. She was a member of Christian Fountain Baptist Church.

Marcella was a graduate of East Surry High School, and attended Business College and UNC-Chapel Hill.
She was a retired employee of US Airways with 28 years of service.

Those left to cherish her memories are two children, Charles Ray Hatcher and Tammy Marchelle Hatcher; two grandsons, Justin Creasman and Trae Hatcher; five sisters, Patricia (Thomas) Taylor of Fayetteville, NC, Palmie (Floyd) Dalton, Karen (Anthony) Jones, Shelby East, and Lynn East all of Winston-Salem, NC; a special aunt, Virginia Mae Taylor; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, relatives, and friends.

Memorial services will be held at 3pm Saturday, November 26, 2011 at the Russell Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Ray Watlington officiating. The family visitation will be held from 2pm until 3pm on Saturday at the funeral home.
