Mamie Ruth Hampton was born October 20, 1938 in Jonesville, NC to Mable Woods and Osborn Woods. She went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, November 16, 2016.

She married Melvin Hampton in 1955 and in the early sixties, she moved to New Jersey and then New York after working as a dedicated Health Care provider.

She later relocated back to Winston-Salem, NC.

Wonderful memories will be cherished by her husband Mr. Melvin Hampton; her children, Milton Hampton, Michael Hampton, and Pamela Hampton; her beloved pets; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Memorial services for Mamie Ruth Woods Hampton will be held at 2:00pm today at the Russell Funeral Home Chapel. The family visitation will be held from 1:30pm until 2:00pm today at the Chapel.
