Mrs. Mamie Hairston Seruby of Evanston, Illinois passed away on Sunday, February 25, 2007 in Evanston, Illinois. She was formerly of Winston-Salem, NC and New York and had been a resident of Evanston, Illinois where she resided with her sister, Mayor Lorraine Hairston Morton. As a youngster, Mamie grew up in First Baptist Church, Highland Avenue, her family church.
Locally she is survived by a niece, Lois Hairston Turner; a newphew, Henry (Vera) Stepp; a sister-in-law, Irene P. Hairston; and many great nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held today, February 27, 2007 in Evanston, Illinois.
