Mamie Willie Flowers was born March 27, 1927 in Clinton, SC to Will and Mamie Robinson Cromer. She departed this earthly life on February 8, 2015.
Mamie was educated in the Laurens County Schools of Clinton, SC before moving to Winston-Salem, NC in 1947. She retired from the City of WS after 16 years of service and was a faithful member of Galilee Baptist Church since 1954 where she served on the Martha Naomi Missionary Circle and was a member of the Gospel Choir.
Mamie loved gardening and flowers, shopping and hats, and her pet fish.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Robert Flowers, Sr.; son, Robert Flowers, Jr.; two sisters, Anna Sales and Yvonne Conway; and two brothers, James and Willie C. Cromer.
She leaves to treasure her precious memories her granddaughter, Bronna (Scott) Walker; grandsons, Barron and Bobby Robinson all of W-S, NC; daughter-in-law, Shirley Flowers; two nieces, Minister Brenda Sales of W-S, NC and Betty Sales of Charlotte, NC; two nephews, Haywood (Betty) Sales and Dennis (Linda) Sales of W-S, NC; eight great-grandchildren, Ashley, Jasmine, and Barron Lewis, Scott, Jr., Scott, III, and Scottlynn Walker, Bobby Baldwin, Jr., and Rhshanda Wolfe; four great-great-grandchildren, Avion Simpson, Martwan Foster, Miracle Ford, and Janiyah Foster; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 12noon Thursday, February 12, 2015 at Galilee Missionary Baptist Church with Reverend Dr. Nathan Scovens officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family visitation will be held from 11:30am until 12noon on Thursday at the Church.
