Mrs. Maebrel Butler Vance, 98, was born on September 13, 1926 in Lawrence, South Carolina to John and Beatrice Butler.  She departed this earthly life for her heavenly home on November 18, 2024.

She attended Atkins High School, was a member of Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church, and retired from Bud Services at the age of 84.  Maebrel was resident of Detroit, MI from 1966 until 1976.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Napoleon Vance; her son, Robert Nesbitt; and two brothers, Robert Lee Butler and Booker T. Butler.

Left to cherish her memories are her children, Leenola "Puddin" Nesbitt of W-S, NC, Theron (Donna) Nesbit of Canton, MI, and Napoleon (Blanche) Vance of W-S, NC; seven grandchildren, Tiffany (Stephen) Kinnison of Cypress, TX, Monique Nesbit of Redford, MI, Robert H. Nesbitt, Jr. of California, Hayden Nesbitt of Winston-Salem, NC, Ada Harshaw of Winston-Salem, NC, Michelle Thornhill of Detroit, MI and Tammy (Miguel) Foster of Detroit, MI; six great-grandchildren, Elijah (Mayte) Kinnison and James Kinnison both of Texas and Joshua (Anna) Kinnison of Maine, Malik Patton of Detroit, MI, Erik Burkes of Detroit, MI and Christian Burkes of Detroit, MI; four great-great-grandchildren, Tala and Apollo Kinnison of Cypress, TX, Amelia Burkes of Detroit, MI and Zion Patton of Detroit, MI; devoted sister-in-law, Catherine Butler; devoted family members and friends, Betty Barber and Barb Frost; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 12noon Tuesday, November 26, 2024 at the Russell Funeral Home Chapel with Minister Napoleon Vance officiating.  Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family visitation will be held from 11:30am until 12noon on Tuesday at the Chapel.
