Mrs. Mae Ella Worthy departed this life on September 18, 2007 at the Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center. She was born in Anderson, SC to Robert and Ella "Lizzie" Robinson.
Mrs. Worthy graduated from Winston-Salem Teachers College, now Winston-Salem State University. She was a teacher in Mt. Gilead, NC and Boone, NC. She was also employed at Old Town Inc. and Kimberly Park Kindergarten.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and a sister, Queen Ester Nivens.
She leaves to mourn her daughters, Antoinette Miller and Blondie Holman both of Winston-Salem, NC; sons, OLander S. (Mary Barber) Worthy, Villow Worthy, and Dwight Worthy all of Winston-Salem, NC; one brother, Robert Robinson, Jr.; an aunt, Lula Harvey; ten grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1pm Saturday, September 22, 2007 from the Mount Zion Baptist Church with Reverend Morris Stimage-Norwood of Greater New Life Christian Center, Springfield, MA officiating. The family visitation will be held from Noon until 1pm on Saturday at the Church.
