Mae Bell Hailey Stokes was born October 31, 1927 in Orangeburg, SC to the late Alfred and Sally Hailey.
On Saturday, April 13, 2013 death came to her home and took her to be with the Lord.
As a child she became a member of Union Chapel Baptist Church in Orangeburg, SC. Later on in life she joined Shiloh Baptist Church in W-S, NC. Helping and caring for her family, friends, and anyone in need was Mae Bell's passion.
She retired from Southfork cleaners.
Mae Bell was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, and a daughter.
She leaves to mourn her death and rejoice that she is with her heavenly father 1 brother, Alfonza Hailey; 2 daughters, Loretta Stokes and Sylvia Hinton; 1 son and devoted caregiver, Horace Stokes, Sr.; 7 grandchildren, Calvin, Quincey, Delshanna, Toni, James, Kia, and Decorace; 14 great grandchildren; and 10 great-great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 1pm Friday, April 19, 2013 at Shiloh Baptist Church with Dr. Paul A. Lowe, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family visitation will be held from 12noon until 1pm on Friday at the Church.
