For I am now ready to be offered, and the time of my departure is at hand. I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.

Ms. Mae Cunningham Archie passed away December 18, 2022 at her residence. She was born May 5, 1937 in Winston-Salem, NC to James and Lillian Key Cunningham. She was the wife of the late David O. Archie, Sr.

Mae graduated from Atkins High School and retired from RJ Reynolds Tobacco Company.

In addition to her parents and husband, Mae was preceded in death by her brothers, Nathaniel Cunningham, Ossie Cunningham, and Boysie Cunningham; and her sister, Carrie Cunningham.

She is survived by her sons, Michael Cunningham and David Archie, Jr., both of Winston-Salem, NC; her grandchildren, Dion Bijou (Michael) of Maryland, David Archie Archie, III and Stephén Dunlap both of Winston-Salem, NC; great grandchildren, Dionna Dinkens, Tha'Mia Brown, Davion Archie, Ivy Rose Coleman, and Dawson Archie; great-great grandchildren, Simone and Bryant; two special nieces, Gayle Hill (Jerry) and Ramona Crosby (Ron); godson, Chris Buxton; and a host of other relatives and friends.

A viewing will be held from 1:00pm until 5:00pm Tuesday, December 27, 2022 at Russell Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm Wednesday, December 28, 2022 at the Russell Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family visitation will be held from 12:00noon until 1:00pm on Wednesday at the Chapel.
