Mable Matthews Moore, 80, passed away Monday evening, April 1, 2013 at Forsyth Memorial Hospital to go on home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Mable was born July 25, 1932 to the late William and Alice Matthews in Forsyth County. She grew up in Piney Grove and graduated from Carver High School.
She was retired from the former AMP Incorporated, now Tyco Electronics with 30 plus years of service. She was a dedicated member of the Friendship Missionary Baptist Church for over 33 years. She was a former member of the Kitchen Committee, Willing Workers Club, Sunday School Class, Wednesday Night Bible Study and the President of the Effort Club. She was also a former member of the Ministers Wives Association.
Mable's biggest pride was her family, as she took great care of her husband of 52 years, her children and her grandchildren. She was an excellent cook and baker which she shared her goodies with all. She will be remembered as a Woman of God who was soft-spoken, loving and caring with a giving spirit to everyone she met.
Left to cherish most precious and loving memories are her devoted husband, Rev. Robert L. Moore Sr. of the home; two sons, Timothy (Pamela) Matthews and Robert (Catanza) Moore Jr.; two daughters, Robin (Joseph) Watson and Lisa (Timothy) Wilson; 13 grandchildren, Tim Jr., Lawrence, Alicia, Brittany, Daniel, Shana, Shauna, Carina, Diana, William (BJ), Malik, Tierra, Tianna; one great grandchild, Armani; two sisters, Hymeria Teet of Durham and Melvernia Olford; one brother, Joseph Matthews of Winston-Salem; and a host of family and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm Saturday, April 6, 2013 at Friendship Missionary Baptist Church, 1317 North Cherry Street with Rev. Lawrence Carvana, officiating and Rev. Stephen Tyndall, eulogist. Entombment will follow at Gardens of Memory in Walkertown, NC. The family visitation will be held from 12:00noon until 1:00pm prior to the services.
