Our beloved mother, sister, auntie, and Granny, Mrs. Mable Douglas Bailey, heard a voice that said, "Well done my good and faithful servant," and went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, May 13, 2010 at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center. Mrs. Bailey was born on August 28, 1917 in Davidson County to the late Willie and Bessie Douglas.

Mrs. Bailey was preceded in death by her beloved husband William O. Bailey, two daughters; Shelby and Olivia Douglas; one son, William Bailey; and a devoted granddaughter Laquanda Douglas.

She leaves to cherish her memories, a loving and devoted daughter, Diane (Harold) Carter; two sons, Donald and Ronald Bailey, all of Winston-Salem; six grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; three great- great grandchildren; three sisters; one brother; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.

"Granny" you will be greatly missed but not forgotten.

A Celebration of Life for Mother Bailey will be held at 1:00pm Monday, May 17, 2010 at Piney Grove Baptist Church with Rev. James F. Linville officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family visitation will be held from 12:30pm until 1:00pm on Monday at the church. There will be a repast following the services at the Church Fellowship Hall.
