Lysandra Wanetta Gaddy Roane was born on December 25, 1954 in Winston Salem, North Carolina to the late Dorothy Gaddy. She was 70 years old when she departed this earthly life on August 9, 2025 at Atrium Health in High Point, North Carolina.

Lysandra was a proud graduate of Winston Salem State University. She worked with Special Populations of Winston Salem for over 10 years. Later in life she served the community by serving on the Winston Salem Transit Committee and the National Federation of the Blind Committee. She also was a long time member of Zion Memorial Baptist Church.

Lysandra leaves to cherish her memories: her son, Brent Penn (Theresa) of High Point, NC; one brother, Northal Gaddy (Iris) of Augusta, GA; two nephews, Northal Gaddy (Marquetta) of Covington, GA and Richard Gaddy (Diedra) of Las Vegas, NV; one niece, Hannah Gaddy of Chicago, IL; and a host of family and friends.

A viewing will be held from 1:00pm until 5:00pm Sunday, October 19, 2025 at Russell Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at 12noon Monday, October 20, 2025 at Zion Memorial Baptist Church. The family visitation will be held from 11:00am until 12noon on Monday at the Church.
