Lula Mae Gist Robinson was born February 2, 1942 in Winston Salem, NC to the late Geneva Gist.  On Thursday, February 18, 2021 our beloved Mother, Grandmother, Aunt, Cousin and Friend peacefully departed this earthly life at her home. Lula affectionately known as "Mama Lula" was educated in the Forsyth County Schools and retired from A Cleaner World Dry Cleaners.

Lula always greeted everyone with a smile and her favorite quote, "Blessed and Highly Favored in The Lord Just Like You". She was a simple woman full of love, laughter and was truly a God-Fearing woman.  She was a true fighter, protector, and very devoted to her family.  She was a pillar of strength, encouragement, and mother figure to all she encountered.  Mama Lula was a part of the Kimberly Park Community for many years and was loved by many.  She loved to crochet, work puzzle books, read and discuss the bible, and cook. She loved to talk a little junk and always had an open door and a hot meal for anyone in need. She always offered words of encouragement and the power of prayer. To know her was to Love her deeply.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Geneva Gist; husband, Robert Robinson; her daughters, Dot Robinson and Brenda Robinson; and her sons, Darryl Robinson and Robert Robinson, Jr.

She leaves to cherish her memory her sons, Reggie Robinson and Ike Robinson (Jackie); her granddaughters, Kisha Robinson (Ky), Walidah Robinson, Quoia Robinson, SaNieyla Robinson, Shakiyla Caesar and Bria Nelson; grandsons, Jamil Robinson (Shawn), Ike Robinson, Jr., and Darnell Roberts; great-grandchildren, Akiree, Kaleik, Jaliel, Khalil, Shawne (Third), Jamil, Jr., Chance, Baby Girl Ceaser, Ahmir, August, Isabell, Jaloni, Sabella, and Aubri; great-great grandchildren, Aamil and Glo; a devoted niece, Wanda Biddle; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.

A viewing will be held from 1:00pm until 5:00pm Wednesday, February 24, 2021 at Russell Funeral Home. Private services Thursday, February 25, 2021. Interment will follow in Piedmont Memorial Gardens.
