Lucy Virginia Golden Torrence, "Miss Lucy", 92, of Winston-Salem, North Carolina, passed away on August 23, 2022. Lucy was born September 13, 1929 in Walnut Cove, North Carolina to the late Hardin Miller Golden and Lula Welch. She was preceded in death by 11 of her brothers and sisters.

Lucy is survived by her sister, Sara (Theodore) Peters; two sons, Glenn (Shelia) Golden Sr. and Victor Golden; grandchildren, Glenn (Christina) Golden Jr., Crystal (Brandon) Moore, Keith (Yvonne) Jarrett, and Tiffany Lyons; 12 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Lucy Torrence attended Stokes County Schools and retired from Winston-Salem Forsyth County School System after years of dedicated service. Those that knew Lucy, knew that she never met a stranger. She was loved by so many people and will truly be missed.

A viewing will be held from 1:00pm until 5:00pm Sunday, August 28, 2022 at Russell Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00am Monday, August 29, 2022 at the Russell Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery, Walnut Cove, NC.
