Lucretia "Trish Ann" Witherspoon McNeely 60, passed away Thursday, April, 21, 2011 at Forsyth Medical Center.
She was born January 29, 1951 in Winston Salem, NC to Robert Lee and Parrie Lee Witherspoon. She was married to Charles Lee "Chuck" McNeely for 43 years. Trish Ann was educated in the Forsyth County School System and graduated from Atkins Sr. High School, she also attended Forsyth Technical Community College.
She was employed at R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Company for more than 35 years and retired as a Machinist Trainer in 2010, where she received numerous awards and recognitions for performance, attendance and community service.
She was an active member of First Baptist Church on Highland Ave in Winston Salem where she sang in the Spiritual and Chancellor choirs, drove the church van, co-directed the Christmas Pageant, a member of the Woman's Progressive Club, and Home & Foreign Missionary Ministry.
Trish Ann was also a member of the Zeta Phi Beta Amicette Club and the 25th Street Flower and Condolence Club. She actively participated in United Way Fund Raisers, drove for Meal on Wheels and was a regular volunteer at the Black Theater Festival. She was also an avid sports fan supporting her football team the New York Giants.
She was preceded in death by three of her siblings, Robert Lee Witherspoon Jr., Melvin Witherspoon, and Aquanita Witherspoon.
She is survived by her husband, Charles Lee McNeely; one son, Christopher (Tammie) Bailey; her parents, Robert Lee (Jessie) Witherspoon, and her mother, Parrie Lee Goodman Witherspoon; her sister, Alfreda Witherspoon Clawson; her brothers, James Witherspoon, Bobby Witherspoon and sisters, Benita "Josie" Witherspoon, and Beverly Witherspoon; and a host of nieces and nephews, Godchildren, and dear friends.
Funeral services will be held at 12noon Monday, April 25, 2011 at First Baptist Church, 700 Highland Ave. W-S, NC. Interment will follow in Piedmont Memorial Gardens. The family visitation will be held from 11am until 12noon on Monday at the Church.
