Ms. Lucille Moore a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, lovingly known as "Aunt Dollie and Ms. Dot" went home to be with her Savior on Sunday, August 26, 2018.
She was born on Ocotber 15, 1928 to the late Mr. and Mrs. Benjamin Shivers of North, SC. Ms. Lucille was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. Charlie Moore; two sisters, Ms. Doris Culcleasure and Ms. Katie Gates; and four brothers, Mr. Harry Shivers, Mr. Cleveland Shivers, Mr. Willie Shivers, and Mr. Elijah Shivers.
Ms. Lucille was a devoted member of United Progressive Baptist Church for many years before changing her membership to Damascus Baptist Church. After Damascus Baptist Church closed its doors, she joined the sister church, Greater Community Missionary Baptist Church where she became the "Mother of the Church." Mother Moore was very loved by all and was well known for her Christmas popcorn and holiday cards. She was a very kind, humble, and giving person who never met a stranger. Her favorite charities were Kids Wish Network, the Disabled Veterans Association, the Ronald McDonald House, the National Cancer Research Center and the National Law Enforcement Memorial Charity. Lucille retired as a Domestic Engineer from the home of The Elsters after 50 years of dedicated service.
Her memory will be cherished by her brother, Thaleese Shivers; her children, Mrs. Annette (Willie) Cameron of Asheville, NC, Mr. Charles (Oillet) Shivers of Corona, CA, Ms. Sharon Hairston, Mrs. Thomasina (Larry) Hughes and Mr. Ronald (Sharon) Westbrook all of Winston-Salem, NC, Mrs. Bessie M. Thompson, Ms. Patricia A. Moore, Mrs. Antoinett M. (Marcus) Fulmore and Mr. Donald Moore all of Fairmont, NC; she had a special nephew, Mr. William T. (Evelyn) Moore, Sr.; a special sister, Ms. Ailden Underwood of Winston-Salem, NC; god children, Mr. Emmet (Willie) Jenkins, Ms. Shirley Scales, and Ms. Carrie Robinson; a lovingly extended family, Ms. Susan Elster and family all of Winston-Salem, NC.
Mama was tremendously loved and blessed to have 11 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; and a host of many special nieces, nephews, family and friends who loved and cared for her very much.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00noon Saturday, September 1, 2018 at Greater Community Missionary Baptist Church with Reverend Melvin Frazier officiating. Interment will follow in Parklawn Memorial Park. The family visitation will be held from 11:30am until 12:00noon on Saturday at the Church.
