Obituary

The Lord blessed Mrs. Lucille Robinson Bonaparte to live 101 years. In return, she graciously used her time in life blessing a lot of people. She was one of three siblings born to Mr. Lang and Mrs. Hattie Robinson in Orangeburg, SC. Her family moved to Winston Salem, NC when she was a young girl where she attended Atkins High School and afterwards worked for RJ Reynolds Tobacco Company doing seasonal work. Mrs. Bonaparte later worked for and retired from National Linen Services in Winston Salem. She was married to Mr. Carnell Jett Bonaparte and they were proud parents of eight children, Josephine Rogers, Blondell Wilson, Nathanial Bonaparte and Michael Bonaparte all preceded her in death.

Mrs. Bonaparte joined and attended Hanes Memorial CME Church as a young girl. She was a dutiful Missionary. She was always eager to attend the many CME Church conferences, not wanting to miss the annual Missionary March. For many years, she loyally served on the Stewardess Board. Early on, she sung in the church choir. When she could not drive, in later years, she would catch the church van to services. Mrs. Bonaparte loved and attended church faithfully until her health would no longer permit.

She loved working in her flower beds, traveling, sewing and knitting. She was a member of several Senior Clubs and enjoyed attending the many events where she would be asked to bring her lemonade pies.

She leaves to cherish her memories her children, Ms. Wilhelmenia Cheeks, Mr. Johnny Lee Bonaparte and Mrs. Katrina (Thomas) Richardson all of Winston Salem, NC, and Rev. Emanuel (Forrest) Bonaparte of Claremont, NC; ten grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; a God-daughter, Ms. G. Dianne Hardin; and a host of good friends made throughout the years.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm Saturday, October 31, 2015 at Hanes Memorial CME Church with Reverend Clarence Cox, III officiating. The family visitation will be held from 12:30pm until 1:00pm on Saturday at the Church.
