Louise R. Lowery was born December 7, 1928 in Darlington, South Carolina, to the late Marian and Carl Richardson. She went home to be with her Father, Jesus, on Sunday, May 19, 2019.

Louise was a graduate of Atkins High School Class of 1947. She later attended North Carolina A&T State University where she received a B.S. Degree in Home Economics. She began her career as a dietician for the Winston-Salem Forsyth County School System. Later she was employed by R.J. Reynolds, where she retired after 26 years of service.

In 1952, Louise was united in marriage to the love of her life, David D. Lowery, Sr. They were married for 59 years. Together they became a team, banding together not only in their love for each other, but also love for the community. To this union was born two children, David, Jr. and Marian.

Preceding her in death were her parents; husband; and twin sister, Lucille R. Barrett.

She is survived by her son, David, Jr. (Prenessa); daughter, Marian L. Venable; three grandchildren, David III, Prenessa D. Lowery, and Brandon Bullock; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm Thursday, May 23, 2019 at Mt. Zion Baptist Church with Rev. Dr. Serenus T. Churn, Sr. officiating. Interment will follow in Piedmont Memorial Gardens. The family visitation will be held from 12:00noon until 1:00pm on Thursday at the Church.
