Louis Labyron Friend, Jr., also known as "Lil Louis", 11 of 1064 Hutton Street departed this life unexpectedly on July 23, 2010. He was born on July 10, 1999 to Louis Labyron, Sr. and Artrice Ashby Friend. "Lil Louis" was a rising 6th grader at Clemmons Middle School with a smile that captured everyone's attention. He gave his life to God when he joined First Pentecostal Holiness Church and was baptized two weeks prior to his death. He participated loyally in Sunday school, Bible school, and the church's afternoon activities. He was also a defensive lineman whom proudly wore Jersey #58 for the Winston-Salem Indians Gold, Jr. PeeWee Football Team.
He was preceded in death by his great-grandmothers, Fern Friend and Mable Ladson.
He leaves to cherish precious memories his parents; two sisters, Samone and Alyah and one brother, Donte all of Winston-Salem, NC; devoted grandparents, Marvin and Patricia Ladson, Donna Ashby, and Willie Smith all of Winston-Salem, NC; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Homegoing services will be held at 1pm Saturday, July 31, 2010 at Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church 1711 N. Claremont Ave. Winston-Salem, NC with Reverend Dwight Hash officiating and his cousin, Reverend Earl Ladson eulogist. The family visitation will be held from 12noon until 1pm on Saturday at the Church. The family will receive friends that evening at their home, 1064 Hutton Street Winston-Salem, NC.
