Lorie Ann "Peanut" Thompson Hickman, 63, transitioned peacefully Saturday December 23, 2023. She was born Friday, May 13, 1960 to Bernice Martin Thompson and Robert Lorenzo Gray.

She completed her formal education at Forsyth Technical Community College earning her A.A.S in Human Services. She was employed by RHA until her health declined. She was very dedicated to her faith and relationship with Jesus Christ.

Ms. Hickman was preceded in death by her father, Robert Gray; maternal brother, Lonnie Thompson; maternal grandparents, Roy Putman "Shorty" and Mattie F. Thompson; and paternal grandmother, Willie Fair.

She leaves to cherish her memory two daughters, Erica (Darron) Wilks of Harker Heights, Texas and Lauren Hickman of Winston-Salem, North Carolina; five beautiful grandchildren, Jordan, Amir, Kingston, Bryson, and Egypt; her mother, Bernice Thompson; sisters, Terry Thompson, Margretta Love of Winston Salem, Robin Jackson(Maurice) of Alabama, Ollie Gray - Martinez(Jorge) of Boston, Montina Gray of Boston, Samantha Gray-Stuckey(Todd) of Boston, Theresa Goings of Florida, Rev. Sherie Seymore (Raymond) of Boston, and Lutonia Gray of Boston; brothers, Dennis Thompson of Winston Salem, Robert L. Gray, Jr. of Alabama, and Richard Gray of Florida; niece, Kira (Kevin) Murphy; special friends, Nino Hickman, Cynthia Lindsay, Thelma Peoples, and Hosea Cox; and a host of extended family and friends. She was a loving mother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend to all.

Memorial services will be held at 1:00pm Saturday, December 30, 2023 at Union Baptist Church.
