Obituary

Mrs. Loretta McEachin Stanton, known as "Granny" or "Aunt Ret", daughter of Johnny and Agnes McEachin, was born in Robeson County, NC on September 8, 1925.  She departed on August 2, 2017 at the Kate B. Reynolds Hospice and Palliative Care Center in Winston-Salem, NC.

Loretta joined Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church at an early age.  She remained faithful to the Lord and later joined Bibleway Worship Center in Winston-Salem, NC where she was the Mother of the church and loved to organize fundraisers for the church.  Prior to her departure, she attended Revealed Church of Christ in Kernersville, NC.

She worked at Forsyth Medical Center for over 20 years where she retired.  She later held a part-time position at Arby's then went onto enjoy a life of full retirement.  Loretta was loved by many.

Loretta was most known to have elegant taste in her hats and always had a flawless sense of style.  She enjoyed traveling to NY, Myrtle Beach, the NC Mountains, and Atlanta.

Her last residence was with her dear niece, Mrs. Denise King and husband, Keith King where they loved and cared for her until her departure.

Loretta was known for loving her grandchildren, nieces, and nephews unconditionally.  She used to watch Nan, James, and Jermain for the summer.  She later cared for Tim, Janai, Jamal, and N'Ki who all have a lifetime of memories to cherish at the family home on Dixie Broadway.  Some memories include her vegetable garden, deep freezer full of ice pops, Donald Duck Orange Juice days, and all the latest snacks.  Loretta loved to cook.  She loved her Pepsi Cola and friend chicken.  She had nicknames for some and there was one nickname she loved to call on, her Bae Bae, whom she is now rejoiced with.  She loved to sing and recite bible verses.  Her favorite song was "I Don't Know What I Would Do without the Lord," and her quote was always "God Got All the Power!"

She was the oldest of 8 siblings and was preceded in death by her parents; and siblings, Abe, Willie, Mag, Joe, John Henry "Junebug", and John.
