Mrs. Lois Teen Melvin Edwards was born on February 12, 1939 in Rex, North Carolina to Woodrow Jones and Pearl Lee Melvin Dubose. She departed this life Wednesday, November 24, 2021 at Novant Medical Center, Winston-Salem, NC.

She was previously employed with Wake Forest University and Ardmore Baptist Church. She was a member of Union Bethel AME Church, Winston-Salem, NC until her health declined.

Lois was preceded in death by her husband, Harrison Edwards, Sr.; her parents, Woodrow Jones and Pearl Melvin Dubose; son, Timothy Edwards; grandmother, Mary Melvin; grandfather, James Melvin; and stepfather, Robert Dubose, Sr.

She leaves to cherish fond memories her sons, Derrick (Lisa) Edwards, Sr., Harrison (Marisha) Edwards, Sr., and Steve Edwards; sisters, Maxine Jones, Belinda Jessup, and Rosa Dubose; brother, Robert (Maria) Dubose, Jr.; grandchildren, Deshawn Edwards Derrick (Aleisha) Edwards, Jr., Lakisha Edwards, Shauntate Edwards, and Rhoshanda Roundtree; several great grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Lois cherished spending time with her family, and will always be remembered by her family and friends.

A viewing will be held from 1:00pm until 5:00pm Tuesday, November 30, 2021 at Russell Funeral Home.

Graveside services will be held at 1:00pm Wednesday, December 1, 2021 in Evergreen Cemetery with Rev. William Brown officiating.
