Lisa M. Williams was born on Tuesday, March 18, 1969 in Bronx, New York to Julius C. Williams and Deborah M. Williams. She was preceded in death by her father and her older brother, David "Bishme" Williams. She passed away peacefully on July 1, 2019 surrounded by her loved ones.
Lisa was raised in Bronx on Washington Avenue with a loving family called the "Brady Bunch." Both Lisa and her sisters loved to dance which led them to joining a dance group called "Rare Essence," and later dancing at annual block parties. Though Lisa wasn't the oldest out of her siblings, she was still looked at as the mother figure for both her dancing group and her siblings. She loved offering wisdom and a shoulder to cry on, and whenever advice was needed, rest assured it was fair and honest. She could be bossy and outspoken, but nothing compared to how caring, determined, and big her heart was. Lisa confessed her heart to Christ at 17 years old.
Lisa graduated from Satellite High School and a couple of years later she migrated to North Carolina where she raised her children. The morals and values she imparted into the lives of her children and grandchildren will continue to set standards for future generations. She aspired to be a doctor, but her battle of sickle cell anemia stood in the way. Sickle cell may have gotten in the way of her dream, but she didn't let it stop her from living. Lisa was a walking testimony and living proof that doctors can be wrong. Doctors ruled her out at the age of 12 (she lived to see 50) and stated that she'd never be able to have children (she had 2) – there's a God. "L.I.", as many of her friends called her, will be remembered by all she crossed paths with because she was always willing to make herself available to those in need and give her last even if it left her with nothing; and for that alone, she left an imprint on everyone's heart which will be truly missed.
Lisa leaves to miss and cherish her memory her two children, Timothy K. Robinson, Jr. and Tyeshia A. Robinson; three grandchildren, Jahzon B. Robinson (8 years old), Skylar N. Brown (1 year old) and Jayceon J. Robinson (9 months old); her mother, Deborah M. Williams; two sisters, Yvonne C. Williams-Niass and Shantel N. Williams; two brothers, Jonathan C. Williams and Eric Blacknall; one brother-in-law, Elhadj A. Niass; two sisters-in-law, Rhina Williams and Olivia Blacknall; best friend and children's godmother, Jeania Black; four special friends, Monica Baxtor, Gwen Milledge, Tanesha King, and Ronald Brown, Sr.; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, many other relatives and friends.
We the family will always remember Lisa and her strength will always sustain us.
