Linda Mae Hurt Winfield was born April 13, 1955 in Bedford County, Bedford, Virginia. She was born to Harry L. Hurt, Sr. and Alfonzo Mosby Hurt. She was called home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, March 10, 2015.
Linda confessed to Christ at an early age and later joined Mt. Olive Baptist Church of Winston-Salem. She was a dedicated member and served on the Pastor's Aide and Transportation Committees.
Linda served in the United States Army. She attended Norfolk State University where she obtained her degree in Dietary Nutrition. She was also a member of the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority. Linda also received her Associate's degree in Accounting from Everest University and was working toward her Bachelor's Degree in Accounting.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Master Sergeant Harry L. Hurt, Jr.; father-in-law, Willie W. Stone; and brother-in-law, Elroy L. Miles.
Linda leaves behind to cherish her memory her spouse Wanda "Lisa" Miles-Winfield of the home; a devoted sister, Shirley Parker of Amherst, Virginia; a devoted mother-in-law, Mamie S. Stone of Danville, Virginia; her godchildren, Jerrod Ingram, KenShawn McClurkin, Jahaad Turner, and Dottie Sansbury; and a host of aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, and in-laws.
Funeral services will be held at 11:30am Monday, March 16, 2015 at the Russell Funeral Home Chapel with Bishop Delmar Jackson, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow in Salisbury National Cemetery. The family visitation will be held from 11:00am until 11:30am on Monday at the Chapel.
