Mrs. Linda Sherrill Shipp, of 127 Azalea Terrace Court, departed this life on Friday, August 27, 2010 following a short period of illness. She is bound for a new heavenly home to rejoice forevermore, according to God's plan.
Linda spent most of her young life in Winston-Salem, where she was educated in the Winston-Salem/Forsyth County School system and was a graduate of Atkins High School.
She retired as an assistant manager at Wendy's (Cloverdale Avenue) and was a member of Piney Grove Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry Thomas Shipp and Katie Russell; a daughter, Lenettra "La La" Gardener; and a brother, Michael Shipp.
She leaves to cherish her memory, a daughter, Angelia (Marvin) Shipp-King; one brother, Henry T. Shipp, Jr.; one sister, Mrs. Marie (Barry) Webster; two grandchildren, Jeremiah (Vanita) Shipp and Tiffany Hood; an aunt, Bessie Williams; mother-in-law, Mrs. Dorothy Shipp; devoted friends, Rhonda Hairston and Karen Anthony, all of Winston-Salem; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm Thursday, September 2, 2010 at Piney Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Dr. James F. Linville officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family visitation will be held from 12:30pm until 1:00pm on Thursday at the Church.
