Linda Vannoy Richards was born December 25, 1949 in Wilkesboro, NC and passed away on May 17, 2025. Linda brought warmth, kindness, and joy to those blessed enough to know her.

Linda was predeceased by her parents, Dock Vannoy and Carrie Howell; brothers, James William Vannoy and Arthur Lee Howell; son, John Richards; and aunt, Frances Vannoy.

She leaves behind a loving family including her daughter, Robin "Nette" Vannoy; sons, Darren Richards and Dalton Hailey; brothers, Sherman, Paul, and Eric Vannoy; her sister, Tara Vannoy; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Linda dedicated 15 years to the Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools. Her passion and generosity touched the lives of many, as she constantly prioritized the needs of others over her own, even though she spent 16 years fighting cancer.

Tragically, Linda's passing comes just four months after the loss of her son, John Richards. This has been an incredibly challenging time for her family.  Linda's impact on her community was profound, & her legacy of love and kindness will continue to inspire.

The viewing and visitation for Linda will be held at 11:00am Thursday, May 29, 2025 at Emmanuel Baptist Church, 1075 Shalimar Dr, Winston-Salem, NC with funeral services followed at 12noon.  Interment will follow in Oaklawn Memorial Gardens.

Her warmth, bravery, and outgoing nature has left an indelible impact on all. Her life was a testament to her strength and the power of love.  As we mourn her passing, we will celebrate her life.
