Linda Diane Duncan Jackson was the  ninth of ten siblings,  born  to  the late  Maggie  Louise McCree and James William  Duncan. After her marriage to Walter J. Jackson, Jr., she moved her faith outreach to Bethlehem Apostolic Church under the direction of Bishop Walter J. In her leisure time, Linda was an excellent cook, specializing in Cajun and Creole dishes. She enjoyed vacationing with her family, as well as being an avid fisher woman who enjoyed surf and deep-sea fishing, and netting crawfish and crabs. Additionally, Linda loved beach combing and cruising. She and Walt spent their vacations at beaches around the country, and touring Alaska, the Caribbean and Canada. For their 50th anniversary in 2018, Linda and Walt renewed their vows, celebrating with their children and grandchildren on Kailua-Kona beach in Hawaii.

Linda was incredibly involved in community outreach, helping as a volunteer for Meals on Wheels and providing dress to impress clothing for female women job seekers. During the presidential election cycles for Bill Clinton and Barack Obama, Linda served as a Democrat presidential delegate.
