Lina Jane Wilson left us to meet her heavenly father on Thursday, March 5, 2015 in her home with her loving family by her side. She was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother and special to so many. She was spiritual mother and a true Woman of God.
She was born October 24, 1939 in Williamsburg Township, SC to Emma Peterson. She grew up in Kingstree, SC and later moved to Winston-Salem, was educated in WSFCS, and attended Forsyth Tech College. Her career started at Western Electric. Later, she worked and retired as a private duty nurse endlessly giving companionship to patients with tender care.
From her union with Thomas H. Wilson six children were born.
She was a dedicated member of Christ Rescue Temple for over 50 years where she served faithfully on numerous departments.
She was preceded in death by her mother; her son, Todd Bernard Wilson; and siblings, Will Simmons and Mozelle Simmons.
Left to cherish precious memories are her children, Thomasina Porter (Al) of the city, Judy Davis (Jody) of New Bern NC, Develyn Heilig (Charlie) of the city, Timothy Wilson (Lisa) of the city, Portia Scott (Mark) of Knightdale NC; fifteen grandchildren, Lave, Al Carter (Kola), John, Ashley, Joseph, Jarnard, Jatoya, Sylvia (Aquilla), Kennard, William, Malik, Tierra, Tianna, Makayla, Madison; seventeen great- grandchildren, Josiah, Noah, Jarnard Jr., Jayden, Jalyen, Lilly, Bobby, Shaqoria (Paul), Cinard, JCoria, Tikoya, Syriana, Zamya, Aquilla Jr., Bratorria, Jewel, and Armani; one great-great grandchild, Levar; two sisters, Gaynelle Shavers (Nearl) and Vanessa Fair (Tyrone); two brothers, Tommy McQueen and Albert McQueen; a devoted sister-in-law, Harriett Coe of New York NY; a cousin Lula Scott of Philadelphia, PA; a dear friend, Joann Stimpson of the city; and a host of loving nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She loved and lived God's will through her works in the home, at church and the community. Her giving spirit touched everyone she met; a prayer, encouraging word and smile are among a few. She was a woman of great faith that believed God can do anything. Her life's journey, til the end was for HIS GLORY!
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm Thursday, March 12, 2015 at Christ Rescue Temple Apostolic Church with Bishop Willie Davis, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family visitation will be held from 12noon until 1:00pm on Thursday at the Church.
