Mrs. Lillie Mae Nickerson also known as "Mother Nickerson", 81, departed this life on April 7, 2010 at the Oak Forest Rehab Center in WS. She was born on January 8, 1929 to the late Sam and Edith Mae Williams.
Mother Nickerson was a member of Mt. Nebo Outreach Church where she served faithfully for over 24 years and was known for her great missionary work.
Leaving to cherish her memory are her husband Edward of the city; a daughter, Barbara Howard; grandson, Cedric Howard (Tangela); great grandchildren, Cedric Howard Jr., James Stovall, Sydney Howard and Empress Withers; a godson, Calvin White; sisters, Clarice Woods, Mary Williams, Ernestine Williams and Lucille Johnson (Charles); a sister- in-law, Dot Williams, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Homegoing services for Mother Nickerson will be held at 1:00 PM on Monday April 12, 2010 at Mt. Sinai Full Gospel Deliverance Center, 2721 Manchester Street with Bishop Tony Johnson officiating. Interment will follow in Oaklawn Memorial Gardens. Family visitation will be held from 12:30 until 1:00 PM at the church.
