Unexpectedly on Saturday, January 1, 2011 at Forsyth Medical Center, God saw fit to take from our midst, Ms. Lillian Bennett, known to her family and friends as "Lib". She was born on April 16, 1940 in Anson County, NC to the late Louise Bennett and Hewey Cash.
She attended the public schools of Anson County. At an early age, she joined the Ramah Grove Baptist Church in McFarlan, NC; later she joined the New Jerusalem Holiness Church in Morven, NC where she served as a faithful member of the adult choir. She loved to sing and her ministry through music touched the lives of many. Lillian was also a member of Stars of Love #26 (Eastern Star). In 1995, she moved to Winston-Salem, NC and later joined Genesis Victory Outreach Center where she remained until her death.
Lillian was preceded in death by two great-grandchildren, Sheka Leshunta Wall and Nakyah King; one brother, Robert Thomas Bennett; one sister, Mary Frances Cason; and one sister-in-law, Mae Eliza Bennett.
She leaves to cherish her loving memories two daughters, Sarah V. Bridges (Earl) of Winston-Salem, NC and Lee Arlis Archie (Richard) of Kernersville, NC; two sons, McArthur Bennett of the home and Kenneth McNeil of Winston-Salem, NC; 16 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Virginia Bennett of Kannapolis, NC and Kate Kirby (Otis) of High Point, NC; one brother-in-law, Milas Cason of Morven, NC; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 12noon Thursday, January 6, 2011 at Genesis Victory Outreach Center with Bishop Claude Thomas officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family visitation will be held from 11am until 12noon on Thursday at the Church.
