The Good Shepherd in his infinite wisdom and care, has called one of his own, Mr. Lewis David Propst, 76, from labor to reward. He answered his call on June 1, 2023 after his illness while at Trellis Supportive Care.

He was born in Lenoir, NC in Caldwell County. He was preceded in death by his wife, Princillis Patterson Propst; mother, Marjorie Propst Patterson; father, Saul Dula; and brothers, Charles Propst and Steve Propst.

During his life he was a former member of Galilee Missionary Baptist Church in Winston Salem, NC and Smith Memorial Baptist Church in Lenoir, NC. He retired after 27 years of service at Novant Health Forsyth Medical Center in Interventional Radiology. He also worked at Caldwell Memorial Hospital in Lenoir, NC. He was also a veteran of the United States Army.

A host of friends and family rejoice with Lewis and his reception into glory.

Cherishing the memorial he left behind are his daughters, Lavonda Hazaimh and Louise (Rodney) Lash of Winston Salem, NC; one son, Lewis (Angela) Propst, II of Charlotte, NC; five grandchildren, Miranda Propst (Michael) Jordan of Ft. Bragg, NC, Brianna Lash (Madison) of Winston Salem, NC, and Lewis Propst, III of Charlotte, NC, Alecia McClelland and Letray McClelland both of Winston-Salem, NC; two special sweet babies, Lailani Princillis Mills and Alaina Lysette Jordan; two sisters, Melody (Alvin) Hayes and Carolyn Norwood; brother, Ricky Propst; three special young adults in Winston Salem, Cova Jones, Cheyenne Jones and Dakota Jones; as well as a host of cousins, nephews, nieces, and other relatives and friends.

Memorial services will be held at 11:00am Saturday, June 10, 2023 at the Russell Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Alvin Hayes officiating.
