Lewis Michael Blackmon, Jr. was born to Lewis Michael Blackmon, Sr. and Lucille O. Taylor Fair on February 12, 1970 in Winston-Salem, NC.  He was the oldest of three siblings and was affectionately known as "Mike" to family and friends.

Lewis grew up in Winston-Salem and attended East Forsyth High School in Forsyth County.  Lewis honorably served in the United States Army during Desert Storm and Desert Shield. He honorably received the following decorations, medals, and awards: Good Conduct Medal, Overseas Service Medal, Army Service Ribbon, Expert Badge, M-16 Rifle, Marksman Badge Hand Grenade, Army Lapel Button, National Defense Service Medal, and the Army Achievement Medal.

Lewis was the son to Lucille O. Taylor Fair and Lewis M. (Jacques) Blackmon, Sr.  He was a passionate introvert who was a silent observer of those around him.  Lewis was a provider of his time and service for his family and friends.  He was a lover of sports and the Kansas City Chiefs.  Lewis was a man of few words, but when they were spoken he could inspire those around him.  His quick wit would motivate laughter and his strong passion was a strength that many misinterpreted.

Lewis leaves to mourn his father, Lewis M. (Jacques) Blackmon, Jr. of Charlotte, NC; mother, Lucille O. Taylor Fair of Winston-Salem, NC; sister, DeShawnda E. Blackmon; brother, Eugene A. Fair of Winston-Salem, NC; one niece, Anaiya L. Jones; five aunts and five uncles; along with a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00noon Thursday, November 15, 2018 at the Russell Funeral Home Chapel. The family visitation will be held from 11:00am until 12:00noon on Thursday at the Chapel. Interment will be held at 9:00am Friday, November 16, 2018 in Salisbury National Cemetery, Salisbury, NC.
