Mr. Lewis James Hines was born in Fayetteville, NC on September 18, 1935 to Wilson H. Hines and Suevary C. Hines. He passed away February 24, 2013.

He was a graduate of Atkins High School as well as the treasurer of his Senior Class of 1955. He retired from RJ Reynolds Tobacco Co. in 1989 after 33 years of service.

He was a lifetime member of Antioch Baptist Church (65 years) and served as a Deacon, Trustee, Sunday School Teacher, Janitor, Grounds Keeper and Van Driver.

He was secretary of the Scottish Right Mason #310 Progressive. The Lord helped him and his father to build the home he raised his children in.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 57 years, Mrs. Barbara J. Hines; three brothers, Willie C. Hines, Murray L. Hines, and Ernest L. Hines.

He was a loving father to three sons, Pastor Anthony L. (Vicky) Hines of the city, Scott M. (Ramona) Hines of South Bend, IN, and Eric D. Hines of the city; eight grandchildren; five great grandchildren; two brothers, Oscar L. (Betty) Hines and Clifton L. (Dollie) Hines; one sister, Shirley Gaither (Apostle Wallace Gaither); three sisters-in-law, Gerine Hines, Betty Hines, and Gwen Hines; and a host of cousins, friends, and loved ones.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm Sunday, March 3, 2013 at Antioch Baptist Church, 5061 Lansing Drive, W-S, NC 27105. The family will receive friends from 1:30pm until 2:00pm on Sunday at the Church.
