Mr. Lester Davidson, III, age 67, was born on March 19, 1956 to the late Lester, Jr. and Mary E. Davidson in Winston-Salem, NC. He departed this life peacefully at home on October 25, 2023.

Lester was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He graduated from Parkland High School in 1974 and worked at RJ Reynolds Tobacco Company until his retirement in 1999.

After overcoming drug addiction in 1988, Lester became a champion for change to help build a drug-free community. He helped many friends and family in their recovery efforts. Lester was well known in the community for his fatherly acts of kindness, compassion, and wisdom; and was highly recommended based on the success of the people he counseled throughout the years.  He was always available or just a phone call away. Lester celebrated 35 years of drug free (clean) living on October 4, 2023.

Lester leaves to cherish dear memories, his wife, Sylvia Ann Davidson; his children, Lester Smith (Loreal), Christopher Caldwell (Stephanie), Sheleah Davidson (Ohnre), and Mary Green (Lewis III); four sisters, Brenda Huff, Pamela Jordan, Regina Johnson, and Renee Johnson (Todd); his children in-love, Jamilla Shepperson, Phillip Shepperson, Romaro Carter, Tiffany Brooks, and Richard Brooks, Jr.; and a host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.

A viewing will be held from 1:00pm until 5:00pm Wednesday, November 1, 2023 at Russell Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at 12:30pm Thursday, November 2, 2023 at First Waughtown Baptist Church. Entombment will follow in Gardens of Memory, Walkertown, NC. The family visitation will be held from 12:00noon until 12:30pm on Thursday at the Church.
