Mr. Leroy P. Gray, Sr. of 111 Azalea Terrace Court, Winston-Salem passed away on Saturday, October 27, 2007 at the Oak Summit Nursing Home. He was born February 22, 1928 to Alberta Gray Clemmons and Albert Petree. He was a native of Forsyth County and attended the Forsyth County Public Schools System.
Mr. Gray was a retiree of the Pilot Freight Company and in his early years was a member of the Kimberly Park Holiness Church where he served on the usher board.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Gray was preceded in death by his devoted wife, Dorothy M. Gray and a brother, Mr. Gerald Clemmons.
He is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Caroline (Paul) Lewis and Ms. Dorothy D. Carpenter both of Winston-Salem, NC, Mrs. Ressie (Raymond) Shaw of Marietta, GA, and Ms. Tanya Mason of Winston-Salem, NC; two sons, Mr. Leroy P. (Teddie) Gray, Jr. of Royal Palm Beach, FL and Michael (Debra) Gray of Winston-Salem, NC; 14 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; a very special, loving, and devoted friend, Ms. Mary Traynham of Winston-Salem, NC; a very loving and devoted daughter-in-law, Ms. Gladine Gray of Winston-Salem, NC; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2pm Saturday, November 3, 2007 from the Kimberly Park Holiness Church with Reverend Robert Edmond officiating. Interment will follow in Piedmont Memorial Gardens. The family visitation will be held from 1pm until 2pm on Saturday at the Church.
