Obituary

Mr. Leroy Davis, Sr. was born January 28, 1931 to Willie Davis and Rachel Jordan in Florence, South Carolina. He departed this life for a better one with the Lord on Saturday, July 5, 2008.

Leroy was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Evangelist Ada Davis; one sister, Mattie Davis; one brother, Melvin Davis; and one grandson, Leroy Davis, III.

Leroy leaves to celebrate and cherish his wonderful life four loving and caring daughters, Lila Parks of Winston-Salem, NC, Tamela (Edward) Ketchmore of Las Vegas, NV, Cynthia (Haywood) Fraiser of Winston-Salem, NC and his loving daughter and caretaker, Latonya Davis of the home; two loving sons, Tyrone Davis and Leroy Davis, Jr.; one brother, Walter Mack (Annie) Davis; his sister-in-law, Annie Bell Pressley Muldrow; the mother of his six wonderful children, Ms. Grace Davis, his supporter and best friend; six wonderful and supportive stepdaughters, Luise Farmer and Annette Farmer of Richmond, VA, Ada Farmer, Jeannette (Kenny) Patten, Vivian (Pete) Blount, and Rolanda Baldwin; one stepson, Eric Farmer; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; his Godson whom he loved dearly, Jermaine Pace of Lousia, VA; and a host of other family members and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 2pm Wednesday, July 9, 2008 from the Friendship Baptist Church, 1317 N. Cherry Street Winston-Salem, NC with Reverend Stacey Frazier officiating and Reverend Dr. James Fulwood eulogist. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family visitation will be held from 1:30pm until 2pm on Wednesday at the Church.

The processional will assemble and leave from the home of his daughter, Cynthia Fraiser at 2434 Stockton St. Winston-Salem, NC.

The family would like to thank Dr. Cherie Chase, director of the Neurological Department at Forsyth Medical Center and her entire staff for the wonderful, kind, and caring medical services provided to our father.
