Leonard Jackson, Jr. (also known as "Mike" and "Jack") was born on May 12, 1932 to Leonard and Estella Jackson in Greenville, SC. He passed away on Tuesday, October 11, 2022.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Ann Mosley, Catherine Harris, Lila Crowell, Peggy Whitener, Leroy Jackson and Melvin Jackson.

Leonard is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Evelyn; one daughter, Lynn; one brother, Robert (Joyce) Jackson of Nashville, TN; sister-in-law, Rosa Jackson; and brother-in-law, JB Harris of Greenville, SC; along with a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition, he was deeply loved by the beloved pet, Bailey.

Leonard graduated from Sterling High School in Greenville, SC. He received an accounting degree from Russell Business School and briefly attended NC A&T University.

In 1992, he retired after 37 years of service from US Airways (formerly Piedmont Airlines and now American Airlines). Throughout the years, Leonard was an avid golf player and won several golf tournaments. He also worked as a golf instructor with the Winston Lake Golf Course Summer League Youth Camp. He played golf until his health began to decline. Leonard was baptized and attended the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses (Waughtown Congregation). He had faith in the promises that God's Kingdom will bring an end to all the problems seen daily including sickness and death with the hope of everlasting life with peace and security on earth. Leonard was known for his sense of humor, well-dressed, inner strength, resilience, generosity and truly loved his family. He will be deeply missed.

A public viewing will be held from 1:00pm until 5:00pm Monday, October 17, 2022 at Russell Funeral Home.

Private Graveside services will be held Tuesday, October 18, 2022 .

A Memorial Service will be planned at a later date.
