Mother Lenora Duckett Cunningham, 102, of 665 Amanda Place transitioned from labor to reward on Thursday, September 2, 2021. Mother Cunningham was born in Whitmire, SC on June 5, 1919 to the late Cal Duckett and the late Lula Duckett.

Mother Cunningham was a devoted matriarch and homemaker throughout her life and was well loved and respected by all who knew her. Mother Cunningham had 7 children with her now late husband, Chim Cunningham.

Mother Cunningham was an exceptional wife and mother who cared deeply for her family and neighbors. She did this not out of obligation, but because of who she was.

Within her large family she always made time for everyone and always provided support, prayer, and love for her family. Mother Cunningham was a powerful prayer warrior that genuinely loved her family, community, and Galilee church family where she served on the Mother's Board.

She was predeceased by her husband, Chim; son, LeeVerne Cunningham; and daughter, Conley Hines. Mother Cunningham leaves to cherish her memories her children, Claudine Robinson, John (Cheryl) Cunningham, Theander (Maxine) Cunningham, Sheila Cunningham, and Stephen Cunningham; 14 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; 6 great-great-grandchildren; and a host of special nieces, nephews, and extended family. Mother Cunningham's transition reminds us that angels are watching over us. She has rejoined her heavenly family and gained her wings.

Homegoing services for Mother Lenora Cunningham will be held at 12noon Thursday, September 9, 2021 at Galilee Missionary Baptist Church, Winston-Salem, NC with Rev. Dr. Nathan Scovens officiating.  The family visitation will be held from 11:00am until 12noon on Thursday at the Church.

A public viewing will be held from 1:00pm until 6:00pm Wednesday, September 8, 2021 at Russell Funeral Home.  Masks are required during viewing and service.
