Lennard Dewayne Tucker passed away on Monday, October 9, 2017 at Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home after an extended period of illness. Lennard was born on July 11, 1953 in Baltimore, Maryland to William "Russell" and Hazel Little Tucker.

He was a member of New Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church. He was a graduate of Atkins High School and North Carolina A&T State University. He earned a Master's degree from University of North Carolina Chapel Hill and received a Doctor of Jurisprudence from American University.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Gordon Tucker.

He is survived by his wife, Cecelia Haywood Tucker of the home; a daughter, Karen Willard (Cory); a grandson, Brandon; step-grandsons, Craig and Sean all of Stanardsville, Virginia; also left to cherish his memory are his sister, Hazel Tucker McGill; his brothers, William Tucker, Jr. (Carolyn) of Greensboro, Toney Ray Tucker, and Edward Fulk (Margie); his father-in-law, Bishop Colon Haywood, Sr. (Doretha) of New Haven, Connecticut; sister-in-law, Pastor Avis Frasier (Apostle Richard) of Georgetown, SC; brothers-in-law, Elder Colon Haywood, Jr. of New Haven, Connecticut and Steven Haywood, Sr. of Georgetown, SC; aunts, Delores Reese, Gloria (Johnny) Barber, and Mildred Sharp (Frank) of Cleveland, Ohio; uncles, Clifford Little (Carolyn) and Samuel Tucker (Ernestine) of Baltimore, Maryland; lifelong friends, Rick McCullough and Everette Shaw; and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm Saturday, October 14, 2017 at New Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church.  Interment will follow in Parklawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 12noon until 1:00pm on Saturday at the Church.
