Obituary
Lee Anthony Leslie, Sr. departed this life unexpectedly on Friday, April 17, 2009. He was born to Walter Leslie and the late Ernestine Cheeks Johnson on Feb. 19, 1956.
Mr. Leslie was preceded in death by his mother Ernestine "Tine" Cheeks Johnson.
Mr. Leslie leaves to cherish his memories a devoted wife, Veronica Washington Leslie; four children, Diane (Dred) Booe, Lee Leslie, Jr., Kenneth Leslie, and Katrina Leslie; 11 grandchildren; 11 siblings, Ruth Lankford, Shirley Hairston, both of Richmond, VA., Douglass Crawford of Wilmington, Beverly Simmons, Joseph Leslie ( Tammy), and James Leslie all of the city, Marvin Ashley, Paris Ashley, Troy Leslie, and Travis Leslie all of Philadelphia, and Robin (Kenny) Anderson of New Jersey ; and a host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 1pm Wednesday, April 22, 2009 from the Russell Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in Piedmont Memorial Gardens. The family visitation will be held from 12Noon until 1pm on Wednesday at the funeral home.
