Lee Olean Kirby, Jr., "Pru", 69, passed away quietly November 4, 2020. Lee was born June 25, 1951 to the late Mr. Lee Olean Kirby, Sr. and his beloved mother, Mrs. Willie Mae Kirby. He was preceded in death by 3 siblings, Jerry Henry, Leonard Kirby, and Vincent Kirby; 2 nieces, Angelethia R. Kirby and Ervenna Kirby Mack; and 1 nephew, Aaron Shepherd.
Lee attended North Forsyth High School and graduated in 1968. Mr. Kirby scored a perfect score on his SAT. He also attended Upward Bound.
Mr. Kirby was a long standing employee of Bermuda Run for over 12 years. He also worked for Kaplan Supply Company for many years.
Lee often referred to himself as the "Profit Muhammad" and was known for being outspoken and a leader in his community. He was affiliated with the Winston-Salem Chapter Black Panther Party. Mr. Kirby was a die-hard Pittsburg Steelers fan!
Lee is survived by 3 sons, Andre Baker, Lethria Jamond Harriston (Andrea), and Al Shabaka Harriston; 4 grandchildren, Rashad, Shaheed, Brandon, and Lethria Harriston, Jr.; 2 great-grands, Rashad Jr. and Paris both of Houston, Texas; 1 brother, Micheal Kirby; 4 sisters, Shirley Williamson , Nikki Cross, Veronica (Ronnie) Dixon, and Leronada Kirby; 2 aunts, Olivia Kirby-Tyson (Willie) of Fairfield, CT and Beverly (Calvin) McMillian; 2 uncles, Felix (Claudette) Henry and Charles Henry; 2 aunts-in-law, Carol P. Henry and Carolyn W. Henry; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Private services will be held Friday, November 13, 2020.
