Obituary

"You deserve this rest." –Regina. A special delivery was made to Heaven March 5, 2014 as Lealma Gregg, 55, of Winston Salem, NC transcended to her heavenly home. She was born August 23, 1958 to Lee Gregg Jr. and Mary Elizabeth Hanes Gregg at Kate B. Reynolds Memorial Hospital.

Although born in Winston Salem, Lealma grew up in White Plains, New York where she attended public school. The oldest girl of 5 children, she graduated from White Plains High School and furthered her education at Pace University, where she received her degree in Nursing. She served in the medical field as a Registered Nurse for over 30 years, time that was split between Lawrence Hospital Center (NY) and Forsyth Medical Center since 1995. She possessed a passion for helping people, which was evident in the care she gave to those around her.

Lealma attended Agape Faith Church, but found comfort in her home church, First Waughtown Baptist Church where she previously served as a church nurse. She was a diligent Parent Volunteer for the WSYAC in 2013, and received the "Employee of the Month" award from Forsyth Medical Center July 2013. She will be truly missed.

She was preceded in death by her father, Lee Gregg Jr.; brother, Dwight Gregg Sr.; and sisters, Gloria Gregg and Marie Gregg.

She leaves to cherish in her undying memory her mother, Mary Gregg; dearest daughter, Regina Mundy (Wake Forest Univ.); brother, Orland Hanes of the home; nieces, Ericka Bennett (NC) and Shunta Hanes (NY); nephews, Jai Hanes (CA) and Dwight Gregg Jr. (NY); as well as a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, and loved ones very dear to her heart.

A homegoing service will be held at 11:30am Tuesday, March 11, 2014 at First Waughtown Baptist Church with Rev. Dennis W. Bishop officiating. Interment will follow in Parklawn Memorial Park. The family visitation will be held from 10:30am until 11:30am on Tuesday at the Church.
