Our beloved mother and grandmother, Ms. Laura Ann Anderson, departed her life on April 24, 2017. She was a Virginia native that was born March 19, 1950 who was smart, compassionate, loving, caring, and sassy.

She was employed by Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center (WFBMC) for many years. She enjoyed her career and the patients she cared for and she touched the hearts everyone she met.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John Henry and Laura Ann Grasty Anderson; two brothers, Chester Anderson and General Grant Anderson; and six sisters, Annie Mae Peatross, Helen Coles, Dorothy Mitchell, Earlene Saunders, Louise Haley, and Frances Anderson.

She leaves to cherish her memories her daughter, Dominica Anderson of Winston Salem, NC; two sons, Marcus (Trina) and William Anderson of Winston Salem, NC; two grandsons, Dontral Anderson and Korey Anderson of Winston Salem, NC; two granddaughters, Sadie Anderson of Mebane, NC and Destiny Green of Winston Salem, NC; one brother, John Arthur Anderson of Renan, VA; two sisters, Vedia Ferguson of Brooklyn, NY and Blondie Anderson of Wilmington, NC; a devoted nephew, Gerald Anderson (Sandra) of Winston Salem, NC; a devoted niece, Daisy Anderson of Danville, VA; a devoted cousin, Jeffery Barbour (Paulette) of Winston Salem, NC; two devoted Godsons, Kenneth White and Jamil McCarrell both of Winston Salem, NC; two devoted Goddaughters, LeKenyia Southerland of Orlando, FL and Temika Jackson of Cleveland, OH; four devoted friends, Marilyn Green, Pamela Campbell (Kerry), and Luz Dixon all Winston Salem, NC, and Dr. Peter Morris (Gretchen) Kentucky, LA; and a host of nieces, nephews, friends, and special coworkers, Cathy, Jerri, Ellen, Megan, Kate, Liz, Terrence and Shirley, and all that she loved.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm Friday, April 28, 2017 at the Russell Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend John Jackson officiating.  The family visitation will be held from 1:00pm until 2:00pm on Friday at the Chapel.
