Mr. Larry Campbell passed away on Sunday, July 30, 2017.  He was born October 21, 1939 in Winston-Salem, NC to the late Lafayette Campbell and Lelia Rebecca Wilson Campbell.  In addition to his parents, Larry was preceded in death by his brother, Michael Lee Campbell; and his sister, Portia Althea Campbell Allen.

Larry was a life-long resident of Winston-Salem.  After graduating from Atkins High School, in 1958, Larry started working for R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Co.  While employed there, America was at war in Vietnam and Larry was soon drafted into the service.  He enlisted in the United States Air Force and served his country for four years.  As a Veteran, Larry returned to continue his employment with R.J.R. while also working part-time as a cab driver with Camel City Taxi Company.  Larry also attended school at Forsyth Technical Community College and earned a degree in Data Processing.  After 37 years of service with R.J.R. he proudly retired, at the age of 55.

An avid competitor and Hall of Fame Bowler, Larry enjoyed RV traveling, collecting stamps and rare coins, and spending time with family and friends.

Larry is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 51 years, Annie Miller Campbell; his only son, Sean (Lisa) Campbell of the city; three grandchildren, Nadida, Jayden, and Keshon; one brother, Lafayette (Mary) Campbell; one sister, Melinda (Jerry) Majette of the city; three sisters-in-law, Irma B. Jackson, Angela Miller, and Bobbie Hairston Miller all of the city; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Homegoing services will be held at 12noon Saturday, August 5, 2017 at Carver Road Church of Christ with Preacher-Shepherd Jefferson Caruthers officiating.  Interment will follow in Parklawn Memorial Gardens. The family visitation will be held from 11:30am until 12noon on Saturday at the Church.
