Mr. Larry Junior Bass of Winston-Salem, NC went home to be with the Lord on July 17, 2011 at Wake Forest Baptist Health, following a brief period of illness.
Larry was born to Tom Edward Bass and Elizabeth Hicks Bass in Granville Co., NC December 20, 1952. Larry received his education in the Granville County school system. Larry served in the United States Army, where he received an honorable discharge. At an early age he was baptized and joined the Mountain Spring Baptist Church in Oxford, NC. He was united in marriage to Ninette Miles. Larry was a very caring individual who loved his family dearly, he was known to his friends as "LB".
Surviving are his loving wife of 31 years, Mrs. Ninette Bass; two daughters, Tabetha Bass of Pottstown, PA and Judy (Naazir) Tajuddin of Winston-Salem, NC; four sons, Keith (Tammy) Miles, Rodney Hauser of Winston-Salem, NC, Timothy Miles of Chapel Hill, NC, and Wesley (Caroly Lee) Hauser of Denver, CO; three brothers, Thomas (Frances) Bass of Pottstown, PA, James (Carolyn) Bass and Willie (Marie) Bass of Durham, NC; four sisters, Helen Burnette, Cyrenia Bass, Maggie (John) Fogg all of Butner, NC and Doris (Charles) Coger of Winston-Salem, NC; eleven grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; two uncles, Ernest and Edward Hicks of Oxford, NC; two brothers-in-law; two sisters-in-law of Winston-Salem, NC; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 1pm Friday, July 22, 2011 at Pleasant Union Primitive Baptist Church, 1250 East 10th Street, Winston-Salem, NC with Elder Reginald Lampkins officiating. Interment will follow in Piedmont Memorial Gardens. The family visitation will be held from 12:30pm until 1pm on Friday at the Church.
