Lameka Myers, 34, known to family and friends as "Shawdy" has earned her wings and flown into God's loving arms. She was a native of Winston-Salem, NC, a member of Galilee Missionary Baptist Church, and a graduate of Glenn High School. Lameka was loved by all. She passed away on Saturday, November 13, 2010 after a brief illness.
Lameka was preceded in death by her father, Kermit W. Kendall.
She is survived by her loving mother, Ms. Stephanie Myers (Christopher W. Russell); one brother, Kermit Myers; one sister, Sequilla Myers; one niece, Jakia Myers; one nephew, Antonio Wright; as well as a special aunt, Pricilla Kendall; and a loving grandmother, Virginia Kendall. She is also survived by Robert Horace, Adrien and Jacqueline Myers; not to leave out a host of other aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 1pm Saturday, November 20, 2010 at Galilee Missionary Baptist with Dr. Nathan E. Scovens officiating and Dr. Robert L. McGowens, Sr. eulogist. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family visitation will be held from 12:30pm until 1pm on Saturday at the Church.
