Obituary

"One thing have I desired of the Lord, that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the Lord and enquire in His temple." Psalms 27:4
"Yea, though I walk thru the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; for thou art with me;...Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever." Psalms 23:4, 6

Our dearly beloved daughter, mother, sister, niece, cousin, friend, and queen of all our hearts-Lameka Shanté Gambrell, 27, transitioned from this earthly life unto eternal life to be with our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ, on Monday, February 17, 2014 at Forsyth Medical Center.

Lameka was born February 28, 1986 in Winston-Salem, NC. Her parents are Mr. and Mrs. Ronald and Helen Gambrell Copeland. She attended Central Triad Church in Winston-Salem and graduated from Parkland High School, class of 2004, where she was involved in many extra-curricular activities. Upon graduation from Parkland, Lameka attended North Carolina A&T State University and later attended AIU of Charlotte, NC. She transferred to AIU of NY majoring in Fashion/Design. In 2005, Lameka was one step from being semi-finalist for America's Next Top Model and modeled for Wilhelmina Modeling Agency.

Lameka was preceded in transitioning to eternal life by several dear relatives including a beloved grandmother, Mrs. Marie B. Gambrell on February 17, 2010 with whom she shares the same month and day of transitioning to be in the Lord's presence.

She leaves to cherish very fond memories of her parents; two sons, David Wiggins, III "Tre" and Aiden Wiggins; one sister, LaRhonda Marie Copeland; two brothers, Ronald (Tia) Copeland, Jr. and Reginald Copeland; a beloved fiancé, David Wiggins Jr.; and a host of beloved uncles, aunts, cousins, other relatives, friends and special friends, Mr. and Mrs. David Sr. and Cynthia Wiggins, Kierra Wiggins.

A homecoming celebration for Lameka will be held at 2pm Saturday, February 22, 2014 at Central Triad Church, 2935 Cole Road Winston-Salem, NC with Pastor Michael Kelly officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family visitation will take place from 1pm until 2pm on Saturday at the Church.
The homegoing procession will assemble and leave from the home of Mr. and Mrs. Willie and Ola Ashford at 1113 George Black Lane, Winston-Salem, NC 27101.
