Koren Lashea Reid-Lomax was born December 6, 1976 to Mr. Willie Bornwell and Ms. Lydia Reid. She made her triumphant transition from this life on May 16, 2021 at Wake Forest Baptist Health Medical Center in Winston-Salem, NC.
Lashea received her education through the Cabarrus County Public School System. She later worked in the manufacturing, food service, healthcare, and transportation industries. Her favorite job though was being a private nanny to many children throughout Cabarrus and Forsyth Counties.
At an early age, Lashea gave her life to Christ and joined the Rocky Ridge Missionary Baptist Church where she sang on the youth choir: "The Lil Spiritualretts" and served as a youth usher. In her adult life she joined Mount Calvary Holy Church of Concord, NC.
Lashea later migrated to Winston-Salem, NC for new beginnings in her life, and a new life she started. Lashea did gospel comedy and sung at various open mic events throughout the city. She joined Greater Faith Empowerment Church where she served on various auxiliaries until she met her husband. Later in marriage her husband received the call from God to begin a ministry. In August 2015, God's Grace International Deliverance Temple was launched and Lashea humbly served as First Lady, Prophetess, and Evangelist. She also started a support group for women named, "Women of Divine Purpose."
Lashea was preceded in death by her father, Mr. Willie Bornwell; and her mother, Mrs. Lydia Reid-Eddleman.
Lashea laves to cherish her memories her husband, Robert L. Lomax of Lexington, NC; son, Justin Sherrill of Lexington, NC; four brothers, William Hudson of Concord, NC, Cecil (Bertha) Hudson of Wadesboro, NC, Roderick Bornwell of Concord, NC, and Shelton Reid of Lexington, NC; two Godmothers, Mrs. Mary Cannon and Mrs. Beneta Gillespie both of Concord, NC; ten nephews; eight nieces, over fifty Godchildren; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
A viewing will be held from 1:00pm until 6:00pm Friday, May 28, 2021 at Russell Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held at 12:30pm Saturday, May 29, 2021 at Rock Hill AME Zion Church, 3620 Rock Hill Church Rd. Concord, NC 28027 with Apostle Edith Jones officiating and Bishop Albert Saunders eulogist. Interment will follow in the Rocky Ridge Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery, Concord, NC. The family visitation will be held from 11:30am until 12:30pm on Saturday at the Church.
