Obituary

Kitra Janell Miller was born August 23, 1978 to Vernell Miller Dalton and James Edward Miller. On the night of December 7, 2018 Kitra took her heavenly flight to behold her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Kitra was educated in the Winston Salem/Forsyth County School System and was a 1997 graduate of North Forsyth High School. Her passion after high school was to love and care for others. Kitra was employed by Salemtowne Rehabilitation Center. She was also a private duty home health care aide. She was always checking on the needs of others to see if they needed anything or just to sit and visit. Kitra was always willing to help in any way she could.

Kitra was proceeded in death by her grandparents, Reverend Buford and Bernice Miller, John Sr. and Catherine Miller; stepfather, Roland Dalton; and her uncle, Wesley Rondell Miller.

She leaves to cherish her loving memory her children whom she loved and adored, Jamora Samuels of the home and Donnavon (Aubriana) Tucker of Mt. Airy, NC; her special companion, Jon Samuels of the home; her loving mother, Vernell Dalton and father, James (Jan) Miller both of Winston Salem, NC; two loving sisters, Denise Martin of Rural Hall, NC and Porshe Miller of Winston Salem, NC; three brothers, Derrick (Michelle) Martin of Atlanta, GA, James (Samara) Hairston of Winston Salem, NC, and Nate (Constance) Miller of Winston Salem, NC; three special nieces, Jamea Hester of Rural Hall, NC, Nyomi Miller of Winston Salem, NC, and Kennedy Hairston of Winston Salem, NC; nephews, Ronnie Martin of Rural Hall, NC, Anthony Hairston and Corey Hairston both of Winston Salem, NC; aunts, Rose (Stevie) Sims of King, NC, Rachel Miller of Rural Hall, NC, Bernice (Frank) Jordan of Winston Salem, NC, Marilyn (Otis) Cooper of Durham, NC, and Renna Giles of Rural Hall, NC; uncles, John Miller Jr. of Winston Salem, NC and Vince (Rhonda) Dalton of Mayodan, NC; two special cousins, Sharita (Lamar) Harris and Danielle (Patrick Springs) Sims of King, NC; a special great niece Kynnedi Hester whom she loved and adored; Kitra also leaves behind step siblings, a host of cousins, other relatives, and important friends, Chevella Richmond, Kathy Hairston, Lashanda Turner, and Allison Hale, all of whom will cherish her memory.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00pm Monday, December 17, 2018 at St. James United Methodists Church with Dr. Paul Perkins officiating. Interment will follow in Crestview Memorial Park, Rural Hall, NC. The family visitation will be held from 12noon until 1:00pm on Monday at the Church.
