Mrs. Kimara Nyo Parker Bacon was born September 26, 1977 in Winston-Salem, NC to Vincent Parker and Jacqueline Vance Parker.  She departed this life on Friday, June 30, 2017.

Kimara was educated in the Winston-Salem/Forsyth County School System.  After high school she attended UNC-Asheville where she graduated with a degree in Mass Communication.  She later obtained a Master's Degree in English as a Second Language from Winston-Salem State University.  She worked at News 13 WLOS in Asheville, NC, Fox 8 News in High Point, NC, and Pepsi in Winston-Salem, NC, prior to entering the teaching profession.  She was an ESL teacher at the Language Institution in Greensboro, NC and an ESL teacher for the Randolph County School System.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Mr. Charlie Vance, Mrs. Carrie Parker, and Mr. James Parker; and her uncle, Gregory Vance.

She is survived by her husband, Terry Bacon; stepson, Jaden Bacon; her parents, Vincent and Jacqueline Parker; sister, Shondus Eleyan of Charlotte, NC; grandmother, Inez Vance of Charlotte, NC; two aunts, Janice Benjamin and Marie Barnes both of Winston-Salem, NC; two uncles, Rodney Vance and Michael Vance of Charlotte, NC; and a host of cousins, other relatives, and friends including special friends, Mandesia, Ty, Laverne, Mrs. Templeton, J, Alisha and Al.

She will be greatly missed by all of those who had the good fortune to know this beautiful, loving, caring, and courageous woman. With the conscious and intentional absence of her parents, her friends and family appreciate all support given as we celebrate the life of Kimara together.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00am Friday, July 7, 2017 at Mt. Calvary Holy Church with Pastor Joseph T. Hackett officiating.  The family visitation will be held from 10:00am until 11:00am on Friday at the Church.
